This Facility is Accredited by JCAHO

In order to provide a safe environment we decided to become an accredited center not unlike most hospitals. Accreditation is voluntary. We worked with Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations or JCAHO, the top authority in health care accreditation. A year and a half was spent preparing and organizing our center to meet the rigorous qualifications.

We developed disaster plans, hurricane and storm plans, equipment and facility maintenance schedules, a fire plan and various emergency plans and the required documentation even down to room temperature and humidity. We have an emergency generator which ensures surgery will continue in the event of power failure. Finally the day of our survey came. The surveyor himself had spent most of his medical career in healthcare administration. He inspected the entire facility. He followed the day’s patient through the center from check-in to consultation and from surgery to recovery to watch him leave the facility. At the conclusion of the day he announced that he was satisfied with our performance and we would be receiving our accreditation certificate soon. We are the only vasectomy reversal facility of our kind to be accredited by JCAHO in Florida and probably the rest of the country.
