About Dr. Gatewood, Board Certified Urologist
Dr. Gatewood began formal microsurgical training in 1984 at the Theodore Gildred Microsurgical Education Center at the University of Florida, College of Medicine. In 1993 he had further Microsurgical training at the Baylor School of Medicine in Houston, TX with the American Urological Association office of education. He is on staff at Manatee Memorial Hospital and L.W. Blake Hospital, both in Bradenton. Dr. Gatewood is the father of three children. The youngest one, born in 1990, is the result of a vasectomy reversal. Dr. Gatewood is not only a master of surgery but attended Ringling
School of Art and Design, in Sarasota, Florida. He has exhibited his
paintings in national competitions. |

Dr. Gatewood is a Tampa, Florida native born in 1947. He went to the
University of Florida for undergraduate school and the University of
Miami, School of Medicine. He interned at Vanderbilt University Hospital
in Nashville, TN. He did his surgical training in general thoracic and
urologic surgery at the University of Miami. He is a diplomate of the
American Board of Urology and a Fellow of the American College of
Surgeons. He is a member of the Manatee County Medical Society, Florida
Medical Association, American Urological Association, Florida Urological
Society and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine.
